Fate of sulfamethoxazole in compost, manure and soil amended with previously stored organic wastes

چکیده

Application of organic wastes as soil fertilizers represents an important route agricultural contamination by antibiotics such sulfamethoxazole (SMX). Soil may be influenced the storage time before spreading. The objective this work was to study fate SMX in two wastes, a co-compost green waste and sewage sludge bovine manure, which were stored between 0 28 days, then incorporated that has never received monitored for days under laboratory conditions. Organic spiked with 14C-labelled at concentrations (4.77 48.03 mg kg−1 dry waste). soil-organic mixtures through distribution radioactivity mineralised, available (2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin extracts), extractable (acetonitrile extracts) non-extractable fractions. dissipation although partial, due i) incomplete degradation, led formation metabolites detected high performance liquid chromatography, ii) weak adsorption iii) residues. Such processes varied manure promoting residues, compost leading increase Short does not lead complete elimination; thus, environmental occur after incorporating into soil. After addition soil, residues fraction decreased quickly transferred mostly also depended on prior manure. However independent initial concentration.

Fate of Escherichia coli O157:H7 in manure-amended soil.

Escherichia coli O157:H7 cells survived for up to 77, >226, and 231 days in manure-amended autoclaved soil held at 5, 15, and 21 degrees C, respectively. Pathogen populations declined more rapidly in manure-amended unautoclaved soil under the same conditions, likely due to antagonistic interactions with indigenous soil microorganisms. E. coli O157:H7 cells were inactivated more rapidly in both ...

Fate of manure phosphorus in a weathered sandy clay loam soil amended with three animal manures.

Laboratory incubation was conducted for 120 days to study the fate of phosphorus in poultry (PM), cattle (CM) and goat manures (GM). Phosphorus mineralized from manure was dependent on total P, Al and Fe content. Manures improved P availability in the order: PM>CM>GM; however, the highest amount of P was fixed or immobilized between 10 and 70 days of incubating with CM and GM. Fixation and immo...

Net mineralization nitrogen and soil chemical changes with application of organic wastes with ‘Fermented Bokashi Compost’

The use of organic wastes in agricultural soils is one of the possible ways to employ these materials. The aims of this study were to evaluate the effectiveness of organic wastes and Fermented Bokashi Compost (FBC), to establish the most efficient use of organic wastes for a soil, changing the net nitrogen mineralization and soil chemical properties. The experimental design was completely rando...

Sources, Bioavailability and Fate of Heavy Metals and Organic Contaminants in Compost Manure

This paper reviews the sources, bioavailability and fate of heavy metals and organic contaminants in compost manure and in soils of which the manure is applied. The toxicity of heavy metals and organic compounds in soil of which would have come from applied compost is also discussed. Type of materials, their background and where collected for use in composting contribute to the sources of heavy...

Microbial biomass and enzyme activities in submerged rice soil amended with municipal solid waste compost and decomposed cow manure.

We studied the suitability of municipal solid waste compost (MSWC) application to submerged rice paddies in the perspective of metal pollution hazards associated with such materials. Experiments were conducted during the wet seasons of 1997, 1998 and 1999 on rice grown under submerged condition, at the Agriculture Experimental Farm, Calcutta University at Baruipur, West Bengal, India. The treat...
